George is close to his family, although
he has always felt like an outsider to them. After his father died of cancer,
George assumed the role of head of the family, looking after his Mom and brothers
as they dealt with the death of their father and husband. Married and later divorced

George thought he had found his perfect
match in the form of Dr. Callie Torres, but unfortunately the marriage didn't
last for long, particularly after an ill-fated affair with his best friend, Izzie
Stevens. OTHER:
He was nicknamed 007, or licensed to kill, by the other
interns after a terrible first surgery, but George redeemed himself by performing
heart surgery in a lift during a power cut. He's become much more confident in
